Welcome! At Guided by IFÁ, I offer guidance through the Ifá Tradition and two of its Oracles: the Ifá Oracle and the Cowrie Shell Oracle (Jogo de Búzios). These Oracles have been used for centuries to provide insight and direction regarding life's challenges, decisions, and opportunities. By consulting these sacred systems, I aim to help individuals find clarity, balance, and a deeper understanding of their lives, whether it's for personal growth, addressing current issues, or spiritual alignment.
WHAT IS IFÁ?
Ifá is a tradition that emphasizes character, free will, and the choices we make. When consulting the Ifá Oracle, people receive advice on their personal journey, spiritual development, and the actions needed to achieve what is called ìwà rere or ìwà pèlè — a good or happy character, which means living in harmony with oneself, the environment around you, and spiritual life.

I was born in Brazil, growing up surrounded by its vibrant culture while also carrying the legacy of my German ancestry. Today, I live in Munich with my wonderful wife and our two amazing children. In my professional life, I hold a PhD in Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence, and while I actively pursue my career, spirituality has always been a guiding force that enriches and shapes my life.
My family shares this spiritual journey, and together we explore and grow through these practices, integrating spiritual traditions into our daily lives. This connection brings depth and meaning to everything we do as a family.
My Spiritual Journey
My spiritual journey began almost 20 years ago when I was introduced to Umbanda in Brazil. Umbanda is a Brazilian religion with African roots, influenced by Ifá, spiritism, and Catholicism. It was my first contact with a spiritual tradition deeply connected to African heritage, setting me on a lifelong path of exploration and spiritual growth.
As I deepened my studies in Umbanda and spiritism, I was initiated as one of the spiritual leaders in the terreiro (Umbanda temple) where I practiced. This experience allowed me to help others in meaningful ways and opened the doors to exploring other African-rooted spiritual traditions and rituals.
A significant change occurred when I moved to Munich, where I was fortunate enough to find a mentor who connected me with both Candomblé and the Ifá tradition. Under his guidance, I deepened my studies and understanding of these traditions, which allowed me to discover and strengthen my connection with the Oracles, including the cowrie shell divination (jogo de búzios), which had already sparked my interest in the past.
Today, I continue to practice Umbanda, Candomblé, and Ifá under my mentor’s guidance, together with my family. Together, we grow and explore these traditions, integrating them into our daily lives. My passion for the Ifá Oracles and cowrie shell divination has deepened my connection with spirituality and allowed me to meaningfully connect with those seeking guidance.
As a result, I now offer Oracle readings to help others find clarity, balance, and direction in their lives.
